Allison Armfield (she/her) started her photography journey when she picked up a digital camera at the age of 14. Exploration of movement and the human form drive Armfield’s work, whether she is shooting audition photos or a dance company’s rehearsal. Allison received her BFA degree in contemporary dance from Texas Christian University. Upon moving to NYC after graduation, she became Studio Manager for world-renowned dance photographer, Lois Greenfield, who serves as a point of inspiration for her work. Allison searches for perfection in the colorways in her compositions. She also currently serves as the resident photographer for Eisenhower Dance Detroit, a Detroit-based contemporary dance company.
